In early July, we captured Stella and Andy's wedding on ANOTHER of Vancouver's gorgeous summer days. It was the very first time (unbelievably!) we had photographed a UBC Botanical Garden wedding - and boy, what a gem of a location (they had their first kiss in the Nitobe Gardens)! The greenery of the surroundings contrasting with the bridesmaids' fuchsia dresses was stunning, and gave us ample opportunity to capture some magic! Stella is the younger sister of one of our past brides, Jenn, and it was lovely to see her again, as well as the little man she and John have welcomed into their lives this year! It's great to see families expanding.
Stella and Andy were clear about what they wanted from their wedding day from the very beginning, so it was wonderful to see that unfold in the myriad of details. They wanted it to be romantic and special, spent with family and friends (and isn't that what we all want?), and I think they would agree that they achieved that in spades, as well as a whole lot more!
Shaughnessy Restaurant was the location for the reception - and its cozy, intimate atmosphere was beautifully decorated with all the things Stella and Andy felt were important. The excellent food and the picturesque setting in VanDusen Botanical Garden made for an wonderful evening. And thanks to some great organization, the dinner games were completely hilarious and had us all in stitches - great choice, you two!
These images are some highlights from the day - it's always so hard to choose! Enjoy!
