A Sechelt Wedding | Camilla & David

Although Sechelt is a mere hop, skip and jump from Vancouver, it feels like an entirely different world. It would be incredibly cliche to say that Camilla and David's wedding was "out of this world", but honestly, there were so many cool moments to this day, it's difficult to describe it any other way. The day greeted us all with sunny, blue skies - so different from the rainstorm that had rocked the tiny town the day before - and was it hot! It started the way all weddings do - the preparation of the guys (we loved the kilts and the fine Tequila!) and the girls (so adorable and fun together!) in separate houses - then it was on to the ceremony site, "Grumpy Cat Cottage", which sat at the edge of the water and had an incredible view of the mountains. The setting was absolutely beautiful - and to hear the sound of the bagpipes as David made his way down the long driveway was both peaceful and moving.

The altar, under which the couple were married, was sculpted by Camilla's uncle, and was a wedding gift to them. Another special touch was the ceremony given by Camilla and David's good friend, Jane. The ring bearer carried the rings on a Quatchi pillow - a special piece of Olympic memorabilia for Camilla and David - and one that holds fond memories for them.

After the ceremony, and a few canapes and beverages, we whisked the wedding party away for the creative session at nearby Sargeant Bay - where we captured images against the backdrop of Sechelt Peninsula. We loved the variety the terrain gave us to photograph - brown grasses, green forestry, stunning blue water and a rocky beachfront!

The reception was held back in Sechelt at the Seaside Centre, beautifully decorated by Camilla and David's friends and family. Amid good food, touching and funny speeches, and some wild dancing(!), the couple celebrated the night away with their guests from near and far.
