From the very beginning, Victoria and Shinji struck us as a very special couple with great depth. The way they planned their wedding appeared stress-free (to us, anyway!), and by inviting vendors with whom they had a pre-existing relationship, they added a beautiful element of meaning to each step.
The area for their wedding meant a lot to them because, they met at Lonsdale Quay (in the fish market where they both worked!), and Shinji proposed to Victoria on the pier in front of the Pinnacle Hotel!
Their wedding was full of special touches, like her jewellery from Blue Ruby Jewellery, a store she works for and loves so much. And her florist, a mother/daughter team of May and Karen, at the Lonsdale Quay. Shinji always bought Victoria flowers from their store, so they were a perfect choice. The Bon Ton Pastry & Confectionery bakery has been a family favourite for generations and so they chose them to honour Victoria's late grandmother.
It wasn't difficult to tell that blue is Victoria's favourite colour from her blue satin shoes to her bridesmaids' dresses to the invitations and the BLUE Ruby jewellery, of course!
The elegant incorporation of Japanese details added a shimmer of Shinji's culture - from the cascading wall of origami cranes (which were handmade by Victoria and Shinji themselves) to the Japanese vows - such a rich language to listen to. A very memorable part of the ceremony was when Shinji realized he had forgotten the rings upstairs in the room, so there was a mad dash to retrieve them - then all was well!
Later in the evening, Hot Wax DJ and Photo Booth provided the entertainment which had everyone rocking the dance floor and showing their funniest faces! They night ended with the couple showing everyone how it should be done on the dance floor - many lessons and much practise later, they looked like pros!
Congratulations, Victoria and Shinji - we have very enjoyed being part of your lives this year and we hope to continue being part of them for a long time to come.
