There's something really welcoming about a home wedding. It's familiar, comforting and holds happy memories. So Holly's Mom's home in Comox was the perfect setting for Holly and Alastair to entertain their family and friends throughout their ceremony and reception.
Holly and Ali saw each other for the first time that day in Filberg Park - which was just a stone's throw from the the home and such a lovely find!!!! Coming from Vancouver, we marvelled that there weren't more people there and it was the perfect intimate space for their first look! The park provided lots of shade from the hot sun and allowed everyone to be comfortable as we moved from place to place. Of course, we had to go down to the beach and get a little warmer on the sand, but in exchange, the scenery was stunning!
Holly's dress was a gorgeous design that suited her so well - lace over a champagne-coloured gown - it's great to see something a little different. Alastair and his guys looked dashing in their suits, and the gals were just as stunning in their sage dresses. Alastair's groomsmen were completely hilarious (due to the "British" factor) and joked their way through the day. Their accents alone had us clambering for more conversation!
Holly's Mom and sister decorated the home and the entire backyard to look fun, elegant and practical at the same time. We loved all the special details they spent so much time creating with such care. Even the strings of lights over the outdoor dance floor provided a gorgeous glow into the evening, allowing everyone to continue dancing well into the night.
Thank you so much, Holly and Alastair, for inviting us to be a part of your day - we had so much fun - enjoy your fabulous honeymoon!
