We were introduced to Sheryl and Yi by our good friend and industry colleague, Kiri Vanderwel of Dreamgroup. Even from our first interaction across Skype, we felt a great connection - they are an adorable couple! Planning their wedding from afar was a bit of a challenge, but with Kiri's help on the west coast, the couple were in great hands. Their day started at the family home in West Van, which provided a great location for the bridal prep. We were really grateful for the spacious rooms that showed off Sheryl's multi-layered dress! Following the tea ceremony with family members, the entire entourage drove across the Lion's Gate to Cecil Green Park House at UBC for the wedding ceremony. The array of flowers that lined the aisles and archway was simply gorgeous to look at, and the ceremony given by Doug Cameron was simple, yet poignant. A sumptuous luncheon on the terrace followed the ceremony - again, the florals surrounding the tables and pillars were beautiful and colourful (stunning job, Granville Island Florist!).
After lunch, Sheryl and Yi came with us for photos in the area - we love the grasses of the nearby Anthropology building, as well as the more structured lines inside the UBC campus. Sheryl's red dress was a perfect contrast to the colour and simplicity. We really enjoyed walking around with them, capturing images along the way - they are both quiet, but have a lovely ease with each other that includes lots of laughter!
We feel so fortunate to be a part of your day, Sheryl and Yi - we hope you are doing wonderfully in your small corner of the world :)
