Weddings in September are some of our absolute favourites because of the warm light and colour. Alisha and Suneet's day was gorgeous in so many ways - partly due to the great weather, but mainly due to the union of two families from different cultures. The blend of colour, music and food was extraordinary and it created a sense of excitement that lasted throughout the two days of celebration.
A Mehendi party was held on the upper patio at Science World on the evening of September 3rd, followed by the wedding ceremony and reception on the 4th at Fairmont Pacific Rim. Planned and executed by Kavita Mohan, both parties were wonderful representations of culture and flare. Alisha and Suneet, both doctors, had definite ideas of their wedding vision and were able to manifest these into a stunning celebration that incorporated family and culture.
Possibly the most unique event that occurred was the arrival of Suneet on a horse onto the grounds of the Fairmont! It was a "first" for many of the staff, certainly ourselves, and many of the guests - what a treat! We loved the custom of the families greeting each other and the love and support shown to everyone. The rousing music added an element of energy, and it was wonderful to see how much fun everyone had! Many of the guests embodied the spirit of the culture and dressed in traditional dress - the women looked stunning in their Saris, and the men were dashing in their Kurta Pajama.
Better described in pictures than in words - enjoy the images from the day :)
